PENGARUH KOMPOSISI BAHAN BAKAR DARI SAMPAH KERING RUMAH TANGGA TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK PEMBAKARAN PADA TUNGKU GASIFIKASI


ABSTRAK
Household waste became a serious problem for the urban environment. On the other hand there are opportunities for utilizing waste was mainly dry waste as energy using gasification process. Utilization of this waste has the potential for energy savings, reduction of the burden problem of urban waste and air emissions reduction. This study aims to determine how the influence of fuel composition from dry households waste to combustion characteristics on the gasification furnace.
Based on test results, it was concluded that there is a tendency of higher percentage of plastic at the higher temperature of the fuel produced flame, flame temperature at the edge and center of the furnace tends to flatten and there is the tendency of the higher percentage of plastic at the higher levels of fuel generated CO.
In addition it also showed that the conclusion that there is a tendency of greater percentage of plastic waste the short time it takes to boil water and use of dry household waste as fuel in the gasification furnace has a chance as alternative energy, equivalent to heating using LPG ( liquefied petroleum gas ).
