Engine with high power to weight ratio is the crucial factors for aircraft propulsion today. As that result scientist and engineers have tried to improve engine efficiency, so that to make engine going to be smaller, lighter, less fuel consumption, but more powerfull. That engine is suitable for military combat aircrafts, also for long-range commercial transport aircraft. Lighter engine mean its capability to carry more payload for combat operation of military aircrafts, or can carry more fuel for long distance flight for transport commercial aircrafts. In this study has proposed solution of how to gain these goals, one of them is providing the additional combustion on the space between interstage turbines of the engine. The obyective of this study is to measure the increasing engine efficiency by comparing turbofan engine with additional combustion chamber on interstage turbine and cleaned turbofan. Measuring engine efficiency is conducted by using design parameters such as flight Mach Number, compressor pressure ratio, fan pressure ratio, bypass ratio, and turbine inlet temperature, to gain engine performance parameter, such as specific thrust and thrust specific fuel consumption.
